This
VINTAGE "Baby Turtle" (shown on the original display card from the producer Hagen-Renaker, dating from 1986), measures 1 1/8" long (from tip of tail to tip of nose), and 3/4" wide. It is 1/2" tall.
This is a "collector's dream...full, complete documentation!
When we order directly from Hagen Renaker, we request "NOT to card".
However, now that we are getting some vintage, and retired, items from other dealers we sometimes buy stock that has been "carded".
This is the case with this "Baby Turtle".
It is particularly FANTASTIC FOR COLLECTORS!
See the date on the card. At one time Hagen Renaker actually DATED these "display cards"; AND PRICED the miniatures, on the cards.

The card measures 2" square.
The detailing on the back of the turtle is scored in the mould. This older piece is HIGHLY DETAILED, so the green semi-translucent glaze fills the divisions and defines the sections of the shell BEAUTIFULLY.
The eyes are simple black dots on either side of the tiny turtle's head, YET THESE EYES are LARGER, than those of the currently produced "Baby Turtle".
The baby has a nice curved INDENTION for a pleasant smiling mouth (ALSO DONE DIFFERENTLY THAN CURRENT PRODUCTION).
The MOVEMENT of "Baby Turtle" is accentuated by the varied positions of the four feet, and pointed tail.
This piece is a high gloss fired glaze finish on a Ceramic clay base that was fired to approximately 2300 degrees Fahrenheit.
All of the Hagen Renaker miniatures listed on our website are "Fired" finishes; thus making them pieces of "China". Most of the pieces undergo at least two (2), with some having three (3) firings in a Ceramic kiln. Temperatures will vary from 2500 degrees to 1650 degrees, dependent as to a greenware (raw clay) firing, a glaze firing, or an overglaze (lustre, gold, or platinum) firing.
