Beautifully detailed "VINTAGE male Walrus", on an original card, from 1986!
Of course it is easy to place an accurate dating for this piece; circa 1986.
This is a retired design (not currently made).
The card is in nice condition. One corner (behind, on the left side, as pictured, has been cut on a diagonal, removing the original price mark). This does NOT detract from the display at all.
The back side does show where price tags have been removed. Again, this does NOT detract from the display (not able to be seen through the buff display card board).
The Hagen-Renaker buff colored card identifies it, as an original collectible from Hagen Renaker, made in San Dimas, California, U.S.A.
The card measures 2 inches square (remember the one corner has been clipped).
The male Walrus measures 2 1/2 inches long (from tip of left front fin to his back end; 'rump'), 1 1/2" wide (front to back), and sits 1/1/4" tall.
Like all vintage Hagen Renaker pottery, there may be normal crazing. All pottery pieces craze over time.
However, this vintage piece has NO crazing, currently.
This piece is a high gloss fired glaze finish on a Ceramic clay base that was fired to approximately 2300 degrees Fahrenheit.
All of the Hagen Renaker miniatures listed on our website are "Fired " finishes; thus making them pieces of "China". Most of the pieces undergo at least two (2), with some having three (3) firings in a Ceramic kiln. Temperatures will vary from 2500 degrees to 1650 degrees, dependent as to a greenware (raw clay) firing, a glaze firing, or an overglaze (lustre, gold, or platinum) firing.
Hagen-Renaker, fine Potteries since 1946, still family owned AND; HANDCRAFTED IN AMERICA!
COLLECTOR'S...picture IS the actual piece you will receive AND we only have one of this rare find!
