Hagen-Renakers' Tom Cat is looking for a home!
This piece is STILL created in San Dimas, California...
HOWEVER THIS IS A VINTAGE PIECE, dating from the 1980 era
(see attached to the Hagen-Renaker display card dated 1986).
Of course with ANY handmade/handpainted items;
styles, colors, and size MAY vary from artist to artist
AND particularly from decade to decade.
It seems fun for collectors to get a variety on these pieces that have been produced over several decades, to see the differences!
Measuring at only 1 5/8" long (from back foot to cheek), 1 5/8" tall, and 13/16" wide, it requires VERY LITTLE space.
This piece is a high gloss fired glaze finish on a Ceramic clay base that was fired to approximately 2300 degrees Fahrenheit.
All of the Hagen Renaker miniatures listed on our website are "Fired " finishes; thus making them pieces of "China". Most of the pieces undergo at least two (2), with some having three (3) firings in a Ceramic kiln. Temperatures will vary from 2500 degrees to 1650 degrees, dependent as to a greenware (raw clay) firing, a glaze firing, or an overglaze (lustre, gold, or platinum) firing.
Hagen-Renaker, fine Potteries since 1946, still family owned AND; HANDCRAFTED IN AMERICA!
This cat is in the traditional 'Siamese' coloring.
The overall color of the body is light beige, with shading of sienna brown on the feet, tail, and ears, and muzzle area.
The eyes are beautifully done in baby blue, with black pupils.
The nose is detailed in black.
This is a GREAT companion piece for ALL of the tiny Siamese kittens.
Location: Flr 101, (Feline case).
