"Vintage" Mama Pelican with yellow beak AND yellow feet. Circa estimated to be mid 1970's.
"Hard To Find" colorful 'Pelican Mama' is in great condition for her age.
She measures 1 3/8 inches tall, and 1" wide (from tip of beak to point on back of head), and is 9/16" deep (from wing to wing, or you can say; side to side).
There is evidence (on the bottom) that at one time this piece was attached to the Hagen-Renaker buff colored card identifying it, as an original collectible from Hagen Renaker , made in San Dimas, California, U.S.A.
Like all vintage Hagen Renaker pottery, there may be normal crazing. All pottery pieces craze over time.
This piece is a high gloss fired glaze finish on a Ceramic clay base that was fired to approximately 2300 degrees Fahrenheit.
All of the Hagen Renaker miniatures listed on our website are "Fired " finishes; thus making them pieces of "China". Most of the pieces undergo at least two (2), with some having three (3) firings in a Ceramic kiln. Temperatures will vary from 2500 degrees to 1650 degrees, dependent as to a greenware (raw clay) firing, a glaze firing, or an overglaze (lustre, gold, or platinum) firing.
Hagen-Renaker, fine Potteries since 1946, still family owned AND; HANDCRAFTED IN AMERICA!
