"White Orchids", this beautiful handcrafted and high fired glazed tile measures 15 5/8" wide, by 11 5/8" tall. It has a high glossy finish.
The backside (of the tile) is finished off with a heavy black felt covering. There is an embedded loop for hanging.
You may prefer to display on a table or in a bookcase, on a 'plate ' easel.
Of course this stoneware tile COULD be grouted into a back splash or anywhere you would like a 'built-in look".
It can be displayed vertically (measurements-15 5/8" tall, by 11 5/8 wide) OR horizontally.
The brilliant and complex glazes have been hand applied to create this work of art that captures a dense tropical scene.
The various greens, ocher, and sienna brown background gives depth for the cluster of, (somewhat) abstract white orchids.
The stylized detailing includes the stamen of the orchids in a regal maroon, and burnt umber used for shading, to give the illusion of the 'cup' shape for the flowers. The orchids have delicate details on the petals.
A technique which outlines the pattern of the design, leaving a ridge on the clay, has been used for the wonderful definition and adds an emphasis to this beautiful work of art.
