Handcrafted glazed ceramic tile; "Horse" head profile, on cream, "with Golden Sun". This beautiful handcrafted and high fired glazed tile measures 11" wide, by 14" tall. It has a high glossy finish.
The backside (of the tile) is finished off with a heavy black felt covering. There is an embedded loop for hanging.
You may prefer to display on a table or in a bookcase, using a 'plate ' easel.
Of course this stoneware tile COULD be grouted into a back splash or anywhere you would like a 'built-in look".
The subtle, (yet in places) complex glaze mixture have been hand applied to create this work of art that captures and adds to the mystique of a magnificent (perhaps wild) animal.
The simplicity of the color palette; cream, black, charcoal, khaki green, and ocher, sets a tone for a contemporary and serene environment.
This somewhat abstract concept, with the view of this horse, is intriguing to the observer.
A technique which uses a raised texture to outline and in this case create the design, leaving a ridge on the clay, has been used for the wonderful definition of the pattern and adds emphasis to this beautiful work of art. The horses' mane is freely flowing with this fired-on "enameled" type technique.
