Sister Bear Cub, # 401-3, in brown, is a
RETIRED FIGURE.
This little guy is sitting on his haunches (he MIGHT be waving at you with his right paw)!!!
This piece was first issued in 1960 & designed by Helen Perrin Farnlund.
I have found information that this figurine was ONLY produced from 1960 to 1988!
This is a darker version.
We have octained FEWER of the darker color combination than the lighter tones.
'Cub sister' measures 1" tall.
3/4" wide (side to side, when facing forward).
11/16" from front to back.
This piece is a high gloss fired glaze finish on a Ceramic clay base that was fired to approximately 2300 degrees Fahrenheit.
All of the Hagen Renaker miniatures listed on our website are "Fired " finishes; thus making them pieces of "China". Most of the pieces undergo at least two (2), with some having three (3) firings in a Ceramic kiln. Temperatures will vary from 2500 degrees to 1650 degrees, dependent as to a greenware (raw clay) firing, a glaze firing, or an overglaze (lustre, gold, or platinum) firing.
Hagen-Renaker, fine Potteries since 1946, still family owned AND; HANDCRAFTED IN AMERICA!
The 'Cub sister' we have available at this time are a cream background, that have been lightly "airbrushed" with sienna brown to accent the arms, legs, front, back, and head of the figurines.
Eyes, noses, and mouths are detailed with black.
Our picture, showing this miniature, is one of the actual cubs we have available.
Slight variations in color and detailing do occur. They were individually, hand painted.
