Most of the pieces undergo at least two (2), with some having three (3) firings in a Ceramic kiln. Temperatures will vary from 2500 degrees to 1650 degrees, dependent as to a greenware (raw clay) firing, a glaze firing, or an overglaze (lustre, gold, or platinum) firing.
Hagen-Renaker, fine Potteries since 1946, still family owned AND; HANDCRAFTED IN AMERICA!
This miniature is beautifully detailed.
The horse is a lovely sable color, shaded with black for emphasis on the hooves, stockings, mane, tail, and ears.
The halter and saddle are in black. The reins are actually black thread that has been "threaded through the mouth", as if they are attached to the bit. As well as, both hands are holding onto the reins.
The female rider is dressed in a black jacket, with white trousers and knee height black boots. Her cap is the traditional black.
She has blonde hair and blue eyes.
This piece would have had a third firing. The stirrups are defined in silver, with fired-on platinum.
