The 2002 FIFA World Cup© hosted by Japan and South Korea,
the first time that two countries had hosted the event, simultaneously!
To commemorate this historic event, TY introduced 32
different
"Champion" bears,
one for each of the countries participating in the World Cup©.
Each "Champion" bear wears the official 2002 FIFA World
Cup© Logo Button
and it's button nose is a depiction of the National Emblem (Flag)
of the
country it represents.
All of the "Champion" Bears were introduced on April 4, 2002.
Fittingly, the Retirement Date of each bear is the date that
the country was eliminated from World
Cup© competition.
