This American "Saddlebred on Base" measures 2 7/16" tall, 3 1/8" front to back of base, and 1 9/16" side to side on the base.
This "Saddlebred" is 'prancing' delicately, yet firmly, with great dignity on a light buff colored bisque (left vacant of any glaze) matte finished base.
This piece is a high gloss fired glaze finish on a Ceramic clay base that was fired to approximately 2300 degrees Fahrenheit.
All of the Hagen Renaker miniatures listed on our website are "Fired " finishes; thus making them pieces of "China". Most of the pieces undergo at least two (2), with some having three (3) firings in a Ceramic kiln. Temperatures will vary from 2500 degrees to 1650 degrees, dependent as to a greenware (raw clay) firing, a glaze firing, or an overglaze (lustre, gold, or platinum) firing.
Hagen-Renaker, fine Potteries since 1946, still family owned AND; HANDCRAFTED IN AMERICA!
This "Saddlebred" is a classic "Red" coloring. Air brushing aslightly darker brown creates the shading: it adds to the realism of the coloration.
Three (3) stockings (both back legs, and right front) are cream colored.
All four (4) hooves are detailed with brown.
The face has a cream 'blase' from just under the bangs to the tip of the nostrils.
The eyes are defined with black.
