Bloodhound (stylized) on card, circa 1981.
Hagen Renaker gives their authorized dealers the option "to card" or "NOT to card"!
When we order directly from Hagen Renaker, we request "NOT to card".
However, now that we are getting some vintage, and retired, items from other dealers we sometimes buy stock that has been "carded".
This is the case with this "Bloodhound". It is particularly FANTASTIC FOR COLLECTORS!
See the date on the card. At one time Hagen Renaker actually DATED these "display cards".
This piece is from 1981 (thirty years ago)!
The card has some wrinkles, BUT the figurine is in excellent condition.
The price shown on the card is $2.00!!!
This mould IS still available from Hagen Renaker. However the painting of the "Bloodhound" has been changed.
The 'NEW' Bloodhounds have a 'brown' muzzle (same color as the body). The current pricing is $8.00, when we have those available.
We will offer this "VINTAGE, Retired" piece on a sale price for this month of March 2011 ONLY!
Collectors hurry!!!ONLY ONE (1) is available.
The card size measures 2" square.
"Bloodhound" measures 1 5/8" tall, 1 3/16" deep (front to back), and 1" wide (side to side, as you look at the face).
Sitting on the haunches, the left paw is positioned slightly in front of the right leg.
The long ears and large nose are black. The body is a light brown, with white muzzle, mouth has a 'cut-out'.
The black eyes are expressive, with lower part showing the "whites of the eyes".
A piece of the yellow collar shows on the backside of the neck.
This piece is a high gloss fired glaze finish on a Ceramic clay base that was fired to approximately 2300 degrees Fahrenheit.
All of the Hagen Renaker miniatures listed on our website are "Fired " finishes; thus making them pieces of "China". Most of the pieces undergo at least two (2), with some having three (3) firings in a Ceramic kiln.
Temperatures will vary from 2500 degrees to 1650 degrees, dependent as to a greenware (raw clay) firing, a glaze firing, or an overglaze (lustre, gold, or platinum) firing.
Hagen-Renaker, fine Potteries since 1946, still family owned AND; HANDCRAFTED IN AMERICA!
COLLECTOR'S...picture IS the actual piece you will receive AND we only have one of this "hard to find" item!
This vintage, retired figurine is 'A MUST' have for Hagen-Renaker collectors AND dog lovers!
